From the perspective of our team here in Haiti, the week ahead of us looked big. We had a large construction team of 16 from Silverton, OR coming, along with a video crew. We went into the week relying on God for strength and wisdom, and He provided just as He always does. We were greatly blessed by the teams, and thankful for the work completed during their week here.
The guys did a great job working with the little boys and letting them help out with the truss work.
They were so excited to have the opportunity to work with the “big tools”!
The team had a little acrobatic fun. Seeing who could walk across the edge of a 2×4:) They loved it!
The roof went up fast! This project was completed on Saturday.
Sunday afternoon was filled with worshiping together with the Haitians, singing and praying to the shut-ins, and playing “Duck, Duck Goose!” with the children.
On Monday we packed up early and set out for the next job a few hours down the road. After that day job was finished, we were on our way back to Cayes. All along the drive the views were breath taking!
Tuesday we took fresh baked cookies to the residence at the nursing home.
Every time we visit them, I leave so encouraged. It’s so fulfilling to see them light up as we sing to them.
This blind gentleman loves his cookies! He always gobbles them right up!
She’s so sweet.
Wednesday we finished the 3rd roof in the Zanglais area. Yes, the team had a full week!
Thursday we took the team touring, and I believe the highlight for everyone on the trip was the meat market…just kidding! It does give a good perspective of how so many in this world live though.
Although this was a busy week, when the team left, we felt encouraged how God had worked through the week. We’re so thankful for the Silverton team, and look forward to them coming again next year!
